PART-TIME
Position aviable in 4 Boroughs; Brooklyn, Bronx, Queens and Manhattan
Job Responsibilities:
The Adolescent Services Liaison (ASL) will be responsible for providing day-to-day supervision in all adolescent services programs within one center. Implement all contractual and programmatic goals/objectives.
•Plan and implement overall IN-STEP (In School Training and employment Program) (design) for center-based after-school programs. Deliver educational, leadership, job readiness activities and special events for adolescents;
•Ongoing recruitment, orientation and register participants, as needed;
•Provide direct service including outreach, instruction and guidance and counseling;
•On a quarterly basis, evaluate IN-STEPpers’ performance and achievement using tools provided by the Youth Employment Department;
•Maintain clear and organized records, including weekly schedules, daily attendance, student folders and case management reports;
•Collect all necessary data for compliance with funding sources and internal systems (i.e. program and school attendance, quarterly school report cards, outcomes and measurements, weekly programmatic reports and Quality Assurance procedures);
•Explore and make recommendations about opportunities to expand and improve PAL’s IN-STEP program, including expanding the type of activities offered;
•Work in cooperation with center-based program staff to connect program participants to the array of services that PAL offers;
•Administer educational testing (i.e. TABE) quarterly;
•Attend professional development and program improvement training sessions;
•Maintain communication with Center Directors and Program Coordinators, participants and their families, and contract managers to ensure effective programming;
•Remain current regarding the best practices in the fields of education and workforce development to enhance program effectiveness;
•Participate in bi-weekly staff meetings;
•Additional duties as assigned by Center Director & the PAL Youth Employment Department;
•Perform follow up of recently exited participants.
Qualifications:
•Must have one year experience working with teens
•Associate’s Degree or sixty college credits required;
•Academic background in Child Development, Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related
field; or two years of college experience with 18 credits in Child Development, Education, Physical Education, Recreation or related field;
•Demonstrated ability to run adolescent programs in compliance with funding sources and contracts;
•Demonstrated ability to work as a team member and roll out programs and initiatives;
•Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task with excellent follow through;
•Self-motivated and able to work efficiently and effectively under pressure;
•Excellent communication and interpersonal skills;
•Computer literate;
•Interest in providing quality educational and enrichment experiences to adolescents; and
•Bilingual is a strong plus ( Spanish and English)
